Wrightsville is Wilmington's beach town and the center of gravity for North Carolina surfing south of the Outer Banks. The sandbars shift through the year, but there's almost always a corner working somewhere between the south-end jetty and Johnnie Mercers Pier — small consistent days in summer, and real quality when hurricane swell or a winter cold front lines up.
