TrueSwell is designed to work without knowing who you are. There are no accounts, no ad trackers, and we never sell data.

What we process, and why

Your IP address — used once, transiently, to estimate your approximate location so we can suggest your nearest surf spot and default Wave Hunter to your coast. The lookup goes to the geolocation service geojs.io; we cache the approximate coordinates briefly in server memory and do not build a profile or store it durably.
Server logs — like almost every website, our hosting provider (Render) keeps standard request logs for operations and abuse prevention.
Theme preference — your light/dark choice is saved in your own browser's localStorage. It never leaves your device.

Map tiles load from OpenStreetMap; chart and map libraries load from public CDNs (unpkg, jsDelivr). Those services see the same basic request data any web resource does.
Surf cam links go to their providers' own sites (e.g. SurfChex), which have their own policies.
The contact form is delivered by FormSubmit; what you submit there (name, email, message) is sent to us as email.

We set no tracking cookies. localStorage is used only for your theme preference (and, in future, optional favorites saved on your own device).
